Día de Muertos helps people remember their deceased ancestors as treasured members of the community, kept alive in memory and spirit. The vibrant Muertos PDX event will feature traditional altars, or "ofrendas," inviting the spirits of loved ones who have passed to return for a joyous reunion – to eat, drink, and share special moments. Traditional activities include sugar skull decorating, face painting, and lively musical and dance performances. The event will be adorned with colorful decorations, marigold offerings, and supports a strong sense of community, celebrating life while remembering those who have passed away with love and respect.
