Latino Community Association

At the Latino Community Association in Central Oregon, we have been providing immigration legal support for over ten years off and on in partnership with private attorneys, but we have never been able to offer consistent, low-cost nonprofit legal services to our families. Immigration legal support is the number one issue our families consistently seek, and there are no nonprofit law firms east of the Cascades that provide legal help to immigrants. Our new partnership with Immigration Counseling Service provides a monthly free immigration legal consultation clinic at our Redmond office. While this still will not meet the demand in our region, it will significantly increase the quantity and quality of service to our families. We are delighted to be able to partner with ICS to help fill this critical need.

It is our mission in Providence to prioritize the needs of those whose future is most at risk, and ICS is a true partner in this work. They are dependable, responsive, and greatly needed.

The Next Door

The Next Door, Inc. (TNDI) has been working alongside our neighbors since 1971 throughout the Mid-Columbia Gorge region. Currently there are 29 programs within TNDI that strive to strengthen children and families and improve our community. Our Nuestra Comunidad Sana program has provided health promotion services and leadership development for our Latinx/Hispanic community since 1988 based upon their stated needs. Our partnership with ICS is crucial to this work since legal services for immigrants is among their highest priorities. We are very grateful to have ICS in the Gorge providing essential legal assistance to those most in need.

Columbia Gorge Women’s Action Network

We at the Columbia Gorge Women’s Action Network are appalled by the current administration’s treatment of asylum seekers at our borders and we are especially concerned for the over 500 children who have yet to be reunited with their families. We’re grateful for the work being done by the Immigration Counseling Service firm to assist immigrant families in the Columbia Gorge. We have chosen ICS as a donation recipient in the past and hope to continue to support their work in the future.

Linn County Rapid Response Coalition

Linn County Rapid Response Coalition was formed in 2017 to address the extreme lack of immigration legal services in Linn and Benton Counties. Through a partnership with Immigration Counseling Service and Community Services Consortium, our local community action program, a monthly mobile clinic began in January of 2020, providing no-cost legal consultations to community members with immigration issues. The Coalition provides no direct services; it brings leaders and advocates of our local immigrant communities together to advise on most effectively delivering this critical community need.
